The Golf Courses

The PGA Centenary Course

Created by Jack Nicklaus, the PGA Centenary course at Gleneagles is a modern classic. The course because instantly world famous when it staged the 2014 Ryder Cup, with the famous biennial match between Europe and the United States returning to Scotland for the first time since the clash at Muirfield in 1973. There is genuine history at this venue as it is the only course where the European team have won the Ryder Cup in the ‘Home of Golf.’

The course is an absolute monster at 7,088 yards from the blue tees, making it the longest inland layout in the country. But worry not, because there are five separate tees that are designed to provide suitable a suitable test for players of all abilities. And just like the King’s and Queen’s courses which neighbour it, the PGA Centenary course benefits from its glorious setting in the Perthshire countryside.

The King’s Course
One of James Braid’s greatest creations is the Kings Course at Gleneagles. The 6,471 yard Heathland was opened in 1919 and is an authentic course which offers an absorbing course which has players always coming back. With historic Scots names for the holes such as Blink Bonnie, explained as beautiful view and Deil’s Creel the devils fishing basket. Every hole has its own personality, with the course providing more than just great golf.

The King’s is historic for hosting eight Scottish Opens known best for their well-manicured fairways and a serious test of ability.
