Our second trip to Ireland will continue our love of the emerald isle and the amazing golf experiences they offer in conjunction with our Irish Travel Partners Lynchpin Tours. In 2024 we are visiting the West Coast with breathtaking golf courses along the amazing coastline of Ireland’s rugged western shore, providing exquisite views and unforgettable golfing memories.

The event will be played over three of the finest links golf courses in Ireland, Carne Golf Links, Enniscrone Golf Club and County Sligo Golf Club. All three courses are in the Top 20 in Ireland’s Top 100 golf courses.

The event is open to all Men’s, Mixed and Ladies Pairs

* To participate in any HIO Pairs Event all players must have an official WHS Handicap Index from your golf club or from an iGolf subscription. Please Note: You do not have to have scored a Hole in One to enter our pairs events*

Our winning pair will qualify to play in the National Pairs Playoff Finals for an all expenses trip to the HIO-Club 2025 Grand Final to TPC Sawgrass.

Diamond Coast Hotel, Enniscrone
Welcome to the award winning 4* Diamond Coast Hotel in Enniscrone, Co Sligo. Situated directly on the Wild Atlantic Way and overlooking Killala Bay and Enniscrone Golf Course. This hotel offers a great location for all our pairs to travel to all three courses, only a 10 minute drive from Ballina and less than an hour from Mayo and Sligo’s famous landmarks.

The Golf Courses

Carne Golf Links (Wild Atlantic Dunes Course)
Widely regarded as the late Eddie Hackett’s finest creation alongside Waterville Golf Links. Carne Golf Links was recognised in 2006 as the Highest New Entry in Golf World’s Top 100 Golf Courses.

The new “Wild Atlantic Dunes” course at Carne offers eighteen of the most spectacular links golf holes in Ireland, integrating the back nine of the original Hackett course with the new Kilmore nine holes, all of which are situated along the Atlantic Ocean, offering unrivalled golf with amazing views.

For many, Carne is regarded as one of the finest golfing gems in Irish golf. Located in the very North West of Ireland within an unspoilt stretch of land in County Mayo, Carne has fostered a reputation as to what links golf should be. It’s dramatic sand dunes that frame the holes are some of the most impressive seen anywhere in the world, providing an amazing venue for Round 1 of the Atlantic Coast HIO Pairs.

Enniscrone Golf Club (Dunes Course)
The golf course at Enniscrone Golf Club dates back to 1918. Starting out as a 9 hole links course, the course saw its fortunes and rankings dramatically improve following the work of Eddie Hackett who turned Enniscrone into an 18 hole course in 1974. Donald Steel went further in adding another 9 holes to allow for 27 holes of golf to be enjoyed within this natural links landscape. Enniscrone has been a regular within the Top 100 Golf Course rankings not only in Ireland (13th) but also within the UK and Ireland (63rd).

Considered by many to be located in one of the best areas of links land anywhere in the world, the terrain and dunes which frame not only the Championship Links course (Dunes) but also the newer 9 (Scurmore) make for a memorable visit and offers an amazing 2nd Round for all our pairs.

County Sligo Golf Club – Rosses Point (Colt Championship Course)
This world-famous golf course at County Sligo Golf Club offers an excellent challenge. The traditional links layout is over 100 years old, and boasts a magnificent backdrop of the Ben Bulben Mountain range. The Colt Championship course utilizes the natural contours of the dune-covered landscape creating a rugged feel throughout the layout. As a result, the course is filled with dramatic undulations, elevated tees, and raised plateau greens which combine together to create both a dramatic and challenging test of golf. A regular host to the West of Ireland Championship, County Sligo will provide a fitting finale to the Atlantic Coast HIO Pairs.

A £200.00 deposit per pair will secure your team place in to the event with a further the final balance due on or before the 1st February 2023.

Upon receipt of entry a written confirmation will be issued.

In the event that the pairs event being cancelled due to any Covid 19 restrictions in place on travel or golf all teams will be offered alternative dates or a full refund if not wishing to continue with their booking.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with all insurance.

We accept responsibility for all parts of the event as described in our literature and agree to supply such to a resonable standard. We accept responsibility for the acts and omissions of our employees, agents, suppliers and sub-contractors (providing at the time they were carrying out work authorisedby us). Except where loss and or damage to luggage or personal possessions are concerned, we highly recommend that personal travel insurance is obtained prior to the event to cover such damage. We cannot be held responsible for the condition of golf courses because of maintenance or climate, we will try to keep clients informed of the up-to-date conditions.

In the unlikely event of a complaint please notify us immediately, most issues are easily resolved whilst you are on an event. If the matter is not solved to your satisfaction then please write to HIO Events within 28 days of your return, we will not accept liability after this time.

You may cancel at any time but the instructions will only be valid if we are notified in writing.
