Atlantic Coast HIO Pairs 2025 – Strandhill, Donegal and Co Sligo Golf Club

We are delighted to announce our second year hosting the Atlantic Coast Pairs on the West coast of Ireland, this will continue our love of the emerald isle and the amazing golf experiences it offers our pairs in conjunction with our Irish Travel Partners Lynchpin Tours. In 2025 we are visiting the Sligo and Donegal region with breathtaking golf courses along the rugged western shore, providing exquisite views and unforgettable golfing memories.

The event will be played over three of the finest links golf courses in Ireland, Strandhill GC, Donegal GC and County Sligo Golf Club. Rosses Point ranked in the Top 10 in Ireland’s Top 100 golf courses.

The event is open to all Men’s, Mixed and Ladies Pairs

* To participate in any HIO Pairs Event all players must have an official WHS Handicap Index from your golf club or from an iGolf subscription. Please Note: You do not have to have scored a Hole in One to enter our pairs events*

Our winning pair will qualify to play in the National Pairs Playoff Finals for an all expenses trip to the HIO-Club 2026 Grand Final to TPC Sawgrass.

The Golf Courses

Strandhill Golf Club
Strandhill Golf Club opened in 1931 and extended by the great Eddie Hackett in the 1970’s, Strandhill offers an unforgettable golf experience along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. The beautiful surroundings can be round on few other courses around the world. The par-70 layout at Strandhill Golf Club serves up a unique taste of links golf, set amid the beautiful sand dunes. Be prepared to bring your best putting game, the greens here are devilish and will require the deftest of touches. The range of interesting and challenging holes keeps golfers guessing whilst still offering a fair but stern test of golf, the ideal start to our Pairs Tournament.

Donegal Golf Club (Murvagh Links)
Situated in the North West of Ireland, our outstanding links course is one of the longest in Ireland and Europe. It has been described as the “Muirfield of Ireland”, similar in terrain with two loops of nine holes, the first nine an outer loop and the second nine an inner loop running in the opposite direction. The course offers unsurpassed beauty and tranquillity that is almost impossible to find in the modern world.

The serious golfer needs to be at his or her best, while those less serious will still enjoy the course as it offers a chance on each hole to win a battle, if not the overall war. If your golf game lets you down on the day, the panoramic views of the Bluestack Mountains, Donegal Bay and the Atlantic Ocean offer some consolation.

County Sligo Golf Club – Rosses Point (Colt Championship Course)
This world-famous golf course at County Sligo Golf Club offers an excellent challenge. The traditional links layout is over 100 years old, and boasts a magnificent backdrop of the Ben Bulben Mountain range. The Colt Championship course utilizes the natural contours of the dune-covered landscape creating a rugged feel throughout the layout. As a result, the course is filled with dramatic undulations, elevated tees, and raised plateau greens which combine together to create both a dramatic and challenging test of golf. A regular host to the West of Ireland Championship, County Sligo will provide a fitting finale to the Atlantic Coast HIO Pairs.

A £200.00 deposit per pair will secure your team place in to the event with a further the final balance due on or before the 1st February 2025.

Upon receipt of entry a written confirmation will be issued.

In the event that the pairs event being cancelled due to any Covid 19 restrictions in place on travel or golf all teams will be offered alternative dates or a full refund if not wishing to continue with their booking.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with all insurance.

We accept responsibility for all parts of the event as described in our literature and agree to supply such to a resolvable standard. We accept responsibility for the acts and omissions of our employees, agents, suppliers and sub-contractors (providing at the time they were carrying out work authorised by us). Except where loss and or damage to luggage or personal possessions are concerned, we highly recommend that personal travel insurance is obtained prior to the event to cover such damage. We cannot be held responsible for the condition of golf courses because of maintenance or climate, we will try to keep clients informed of the up-to-date conditions.

In the unlikely event of a complaint please notify us immediately, most issues are easily resolved whilst you are on an event. If the matter is not solved to your satisfaction then please write to HIO Events within 28 days of your return, we will not accept liability after this time.

You may cancel at any time but the instructions will only be valid if we are notified in writing.
