Alwoodley in North Leeds is Alister MacKenzie's first ever golf course design, laid out in 1907 on Wigton Moor. A heathland gem of springy fairways, naturalistic bunkers and large undulating greens.

About Alwoodley Golf Club
The greens were shaped in collaboration with Harry Colt, making Alwoodley a living laboratory for the architectural principles MacKenzie refined across a lifetime.
More than 100 years on, Alwoodley continues to be a much sought after venue for major events, regularly hosting fixtures for The R&A, England Golf and the Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs.
In 2019 the club welcomed the Brabazon Trophy, the English Men's Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship, for the first time. Ben Schmidt became the youngest ever victor, the 16 year old producing a nerveless display to win by five strokes. In 2024 Alwoodley hosted The R&A Girls' Amateur Championship, won by Havanna Torstensson.

Founded in 1906 and moved to its current site in 1935 after James Braid identified the land, Fulford was designed by Major Charles MacKenzie, brother of the legendary Alister MacKenzie of Augusta National fame.

About Fulford Golf Club
The course sits on predominantly sandy ground and a major renovation has recently been completed by Mackenzie and Ebert. The fairways wind their way between avenues of trees.
There is one particular tree at Fulford that will remain a monument to Bernhard Langer for as long as it lives. In the 1981 B&H International, Langer hit his approach to the 17th into the branches of a large ash tree and the ball remained lodged. Rather than take a penalty drop, Langer shinned up the tree and played the shot from where it lay. From a precarious stance he chipped out and, to everyone's astonishment, the ball landed on the green. A plaque on the same tree now commemorates the feat.

Yes, all golfers will need to be a member. This can be purchased for just £10 for the year. This can be paid for pre-events or on the day of the event. The membership comes with great additional perks.
The event is open to all Men's, Women's and Mixed Pairs. You do not need to have scored a Hole in One to enter any of our events.
Max Handicap Men 24, Ladies 36 to 85% Allowance. You will need to have played 6 formal competitions in the 12 months preceding the event to be eligible for prizes.
The winning pair will qualify to play in the National Pairs Playoff Finals for an all expenses trip to the HIO-Club Grand Final at TPC Sawgrass. If the event has 6 or more Mixed/Women's Pairs we will offer a separate qualification section.
Yes, whenever possible we will send all scores back to your governing body via Golf Genius.
All players will receive a Digital Tournament Booklet approximately one month before the event date, detailing tee times, prizes and a full itinerary.
The playoff venue generally changes every year and is held in April/May the following season.
Our pairs champions will enjoy the trip of a lifetime the following year in September.
