Inspired by the great links courses of Britain, particularly those on land which are less dominated by dunes, Craigielaw is equal to many of the finest examples of such courses; some of which are conveniently located nearby in the East Lothian area.

Designed by Donald Steel & Co. the course opened in 2001 and in this short period has been host to many national events, including the 2006 Scottish Amateur Strokeplay Championship, 2007 British Seniors Open at Muirfield and now an Regional Open Qualifying venue.

With challenging greens, cavernous bunkers and spectacular views over the Firth of Forth, Gullane Hill and out towards Edinburgh and Fife, Craigielaw Golf Club is an experience not to be missed.

All HIO-Club events are open to golfers of all ages, both male+female and you don't need to have scored a Hole in 1 to participate in our events :) Just simply pick your tee time and book up!

All players must have an active WHS Handicap or iGolf handicap
Qualifiers are open to all Men, Women and Mixed Pairs over the age of
18 years and above.

Prize Eligibility

You will need to have played 6 x formal competitions in the 12 months proceeding the event to be eligible for prizes. A formal competition is one which is run by an approved organization such as a golf club/county association and is different from a social round. Evidence of this is required before prizes are awarded.

The winning pair will qualify to play in the National Pairs Playoff Finals for an all expenses trip to the HIO-Club 2026 Grand Final toTPC Sawgrass.
