Downfield Golf Club
Located in Dundee, Downfield Golf club is the birthplace of the Scottish Open, held in 1972. This parkland course is considered one of the most beautiful courses in inland Scotland and receives high praise from 1999 Open champion Paul Lawrie. The course was laid out by architect James Braid in 1932; five original holes have been incorporated into the course played today. On the course, golfers will be provided with a variety of challenges with water playing a role on 7 holes. Off the championship tees, there are 5 par fives with a memorable 11th hole. The course is renowned for its well-maintained greens and stunning parkland setting. All competitors can expect a challenging yet enjoyable 1st tournament round.
