Welcome to Downfield Golf Club birthplace of the Scottish Open and former Open Final Qualifying venue.
A Championship golf course situated in the city of Dundee and ranked as one of the UK’s top parkland courses, the course is a great test of golf in majestic woodland surroundings.
The course was re-designed after the war by James Braid and is located just 25 minutes from St Andrews and Carnoustie. Downfield is part of one of the best golfing coastlines in the World and deservedly labelled ‘One of the Finest Inland Courses in Britain’ according to Paul Lawrie and making it into Sam Torrance’s Top 18 Golf Courses in Scotland.

All HIO-Club events are open to golfers of all ages, both male+female and you don't need to have scored a Hole in 1 to participate in our events :) Just simply pick your tee time and book up!

Max Handicap Men 24 Ladies 36
All players must have an active WHS Handicap or iGolf handicap
Qualifiers are open to all Men, Women and Mixed Pairs over the age of
18 years and above.

The winning pair will qualify to play in the National Pairs Playoff Finals for an all expenses trip to the HIO-Club 2026 Grand Final toTPC Sawgrass.
Please Note: If the event has 6 x or more Mixed/Women’s Pairs we will offer a separate qualification section.
