Ayrshire HIO Pairs – Western Gailes, Gailes Links and Irvine Golf Club

We are delighted to continue our fantastic tournament golf experience for all Men’s, Mixed and Ladies Pairs, due to demand we are offering two separate qualifying sections in our Ayrshire HIO Pairs, firstly a Men’s section and secondly a Mixed/Ladies section. Our 54 hole tournament will be played over three of Scotlands finest golf courses on the famous Ayrshire coast at Western Gailes, Irvine Golf Club and the Gailes Links, all of which have hosted Final Qualifying for the Open Championship.

After our event finishes all pairs will then have the opportunity to stay additional nights to watch the world’s finest LPGA players compete for the 2023 Trust Women’s Scottish Open at the nearby Dundonald Links.

Our leading Men’s, Mixed and Ladies pairs will qualify to play in the National Pairs Playoff Finals for an all expenses trip to the HIO-Club 2024 Grand Final at TPC Sawgrass.

The Hole In One Club are delighted to announce this must play HIO Pairs event, with 1 Round over Gailes Links, 1 Round over Irvine Golf Club and 1 Round over Western Gailes.

The Golf Courses

Western Gailes
The reputation of Western Gailes as one of the game’s finest and more exacting courses has spread worldwide as evidenced by its numerous visitors from around the world including golfing legends Luke Donald, Rory McIlroy and Bubba Watson have all tested their mettle over this classic links course. Ranked No 24 in the GB&I Top 100 Golf Courses it is a course that we believe should be in every golfer’s “must  play” list.

Gailes Links
Established in 1892 and ranked the 10th Oldest Golf Club in the world. The club has hosted 32 International competitions since 1927 and was an Open Final Championship Qualifying course four times since 2014. This venue will test all our pairs with omnipresent gorse and superb bunkering demanding pinpoint accuracy from the first to the last.

Irvine Golf Club
Set in a seaside location, the neighbouring Gulf Stream ensures year round links golf, whilst the romantic peaks of Arran present a stunning backdrop to the landscape. The Irvine Golf Club established 1887, is a fine example and is regularly used by the R&A as a Final Open Qualifying Course. In 2003, the Club co-hosted the Amateur Championship with Royal Troon and in 2007, the British Seniors’ Open with Turnberry. In 2009, the Ladies Home Internationals were also successfully hosted at the Irvine Golf Club. In 2016 the Scottish Youths Championship and the Ladies British Open Final Qualifying was also held at the club in 2017.

It truly is one of Scotland’s hidden gems, offering a traditional links challenge, which owes much of its present day character to the course design of the great James Braid. One of Scotland’s most celebrated course designers, James Braid created a legacy of distinctive courses, characterised by their great variety and interesting use of nature’s assets.

2023 Trust Women’s Scottish Open at Dundonald Links

We have made our Ayrshire HIO Pairs dates work so that all pairs can enjoy the thrill of watching Live Professional Golf, in 2023 the Women’s Scottish Open will be played at the nearby Dundonald Links. The 2022 event was won by Japan’s Ayaka Farue shooting a course record 62(-10) on her way to victory. The event boasts one of the strongest fields in Women’s Professional Golf and is a golfing spectical that should not be missed.

The Event is open to Men’s, Ladies/Mixed Pairs over the age of 18 years and above

Booking Conditions

Please read the following booking conditions carefully, they form the basis of your contract with HIO Events Limited and set out our respective rights and obligations.

All hotel and room upgrades are subject to availability at the time of booking.

A £200.00 deposit per amateur player will secure your team place in to the event with a further the final balance due on or before the 1st May 2023.

Upon receipt of entry a written confirmation will be issued.

In the event that the pairs event being cancelled due to any Covid 19 restrictions in place on travel or golf all teams will be offered alternative dates or a full refund if not wishing to continue with their booking.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with all insurance, and Covid health requirements. It is your responsibility to check current regulations and if our company incurs fines or surcharges as a result of your negligence you will be responsible for reimbursing us accordingly.

We accept responsibility for all parts of the event as described in our literature and agree to supply such to a resonable standard. We accept responsibility for the acts and omissions of our employees, agents, suppliers and sub-contractors (providing at the time they were carrying out work authorisedby us). Except where loss and or damage to luggage or personal possessions are concerned, we highly recommend that personal travel insurance is obtained prior to the event to cover such damage. We cannot be held responsible for the condition of golf courses because of maintenance or climate, we will try to keep clients informed of the up-to-date conditions.

In the unlikely event of a complaint please notify us immediately, most issues are easily resolved whilst you are on an event. If the matter is not solved to your satisfaction then please write to HIO Events within 28 days of your return, we will not accept liability after this time.

You may cancel at any time but the instructions will only be valid if we are notified in writing.
