The season may be over, but the hole in ones keep on coming!
On the last day of the season Graham Turner from Prestwick St Cuthbert Golf Club got the ace that could take him to Sawgrass.
Speaking after his hole in one, Graham told us: “I was playing in the R.M.Tonner trophy at Prestwick St Cuthbert with a couple of my good friends. We arrived at the 171 yard 7th hole, the first par 3. I have been close at this hole a few times over the years hitting the pin and lipping out. I stepped onto the tee with a bit of doubt in my mind what club to hit, picked out the 6, teed it up and flushed it, the ball pitched about 10 feet short right on line with the flag stick and it rolled straight into the hole.
“It was my first ever hole in one. I’d never even witnessed one before! What a feeling! Then after the game it was straight to the bar to do some proper celebrating.”
Welsh HIO-CLUB success continues in 2018 with Oliver Douglas making his dream ace at Llandrindod Wells GC Following in the footsteps of Nik McAndrew (Raglan Park) Moelwyn Carter (Pontnewydd) and Glynn Day (Brynmeadows) the welsh flag is carried this year to SAWGRASS by Olly Douglas, who aced the clubs 191yd 17th Hole in the May […]
